Thick, textured, and full of mismatched color — this rug is built from strips of recycled fabric hand-knotted alongside cotton and wool, so no single color or shape repeats in quite the same way twice. That patchwork construction is the whole point of the Boucherouite style: it grew out of the High Atlas in the 1950s as a way to turn worn clothing and leftover textile scraps into warm, usable floor coverings, and it's since become valued for exactly the improvised look that practicality produced.

At this size, it fits well in a bedroom, entryway, or as a smaller accent over a larger neutral rug — a way to bring in color and texture without covering an entire room. It's machine- or hand-washable, which sets it apart from the all-wool Berber styles.
