Large Handmade Boucherouite Rug - 300 x 175 cm (9.84 x 5.74 ft)
Boucherouite rugs come from a different tradition than the classic wool Berber weave. Originating in the mid-20th century in the High Atlas Mountains, they were woven from leftover clothing and fabric scraps — a practical way to make warm floor coverings when wool was scarce. That patchwork origin gives each rug its loud, layered color mix and irregular texture, closer to folk art than a traditional pattern.
This piece is hand-loomed from a blend of recycled fabric strips, cotton, and wool, giving it a soft, textured pile with a bohemian, eclectic feel. It works well in casual spaces — a kids' room, a reading nook, a terrace — anywhere you want color and texture rather than a formal look. Unlike pure wool rugs, this one can be washed.
